SAFE formed in May 2015 in response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Since that time we have worked hard as a 100% volunteer organization to sponsor and re-settle refugee newcomers in our community and, as a Settlement Agreement Holder (SAH), to support the sponsorship and resettlement efforts of other community groups. - https://www.safeantigonish.ca/
2025 is the tenth anniversary of the organization, and SAFE is holding a fundraising dinner for 250 people to raise funds to continue to bring refugee families to the Antigonish community. They require wait staff to set up the dining room, serve and clear plates, fill water glasses, and tidy up once the event is over. Students need to wear black pants, black comfortable shoes and a white or black shirt with no logos.
