FALL 2024 - Book a meeting for your Service Learning Placement with Arlynne McGrath

Read emails from Service Learning and Galaxy Digital.

Our office is located in the Coady International Institute building, 3^rd floor.

 Log into your Galaxy Digital account to sign up, you will receive a email regarding your Galaxy Digital account.

1. Username will be your StFX email – x2021???@stfx.ca (for example)
2. Pick your placement -
   1. Your placement requires you to do 20 hours per term. 2 hours per week for 10 weeks. Choose a consistent day and time each week.  
   2. Book your appointment with Service Learning, for approval of your SL placement and fill out any necessary forms.

In your SL meeting you need to:

1. Bring your class schedule
2. Bring ID, (Driver’s License, Health Card)
3. Do you have a Community Partner Orientation?
4. Have you completed a Service Learning General Orientation in the past? If not, you will need to attend this year.
5. Screening forms (will be provided for you)
   1. Child Abuse Registry – Online Form https://beta.novascotia.ca/apply-child-abuse-register-search (no fee)
   2. Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check - In the Service Learning Office (no fee)
6. Community Partner Forms
7. Start date/end date

The RCMP will be at our office on:
Thursday, September 12th from 3:00-5:00pm and Tuesday, September 17th from 1:00pm-3:00pm.

If you cannot come to the Service Learning office at these times due to a class conflict, we will find a solution. Please do not go to the RCMP detachment unless we direct you to do so. 

(Forms will be returned to Service Learning office, emails will be sent out to students when SL receives the forms)
