SAFE formed in May 2015 in response to the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Since that time we have worked hard as a 100% volunteer organization to sponsor and re-settle refugee newcomers in our community and, as a Settlement Agreement Holder (SAH), to support the sponsorship and resettlement efforts of other community groups. - https://www.safeantigonish.ca/
2025 is the tenth anniversary of the organization, and there is a conference being held on campus. Service Learning students will provide child care for those attending the conference. If you sign up for this placement, you will need a Vulnerable Sector Check and a Child Abuse Registry check, please contact the Service Learning Office for assistance with this.
Any French, Arabic or Swahili speakers would be deeply appreciated as some of the children may not speak English yet.
